| What we should have told Bush. Jan 13- "Vencerán, pero no convencerán. Vencerán porque tienen la fuerza bruta. Pero no convencerán, porque para convencer hay que persuadir. Y para persuadir, necesitan Ustedes algo que les falta: la razón." Basque author Miguel de Unamuno, addressing the future Fascist conquerors of Spain. "You will conquer, but you will not convince. You will conquer because you have brute force. But you will not convince because to convince, you have to persuade. And to persuade, you need something you lack: reason/being right" DFA Training Academy Dec 26- ![]() DFA Academy March 28-29 all day Come join us as we learn the skills to take back our country. Well President Bush has been passing rules and regulations that help the wealthy and screw the poor, how christian of him. His last one is to make it harder for workers to do anything about exposure to toxic or carcinogenic chemicals at work. This was applauded by businesses. Here is a link to all of his last minute misdeeds that the Obama administration will spend months to years undoing. They have been posted at Propublica, a site that is dedicated to tracking all of George Bush's midnight legislation. Sen. Boxers New Years resolution Nov 24- Senator Boxer has proposed a plan for the next congress. You can see the press conference and transcript here. She is not waiting till sometime next spring to actually have a plan, she is doing it now and that is what we like about Sen. Boxer. Please read the proposed text of the press conference or watch the video clip. "Instead of denial, we will have resolve. Instead of procrastination, we will have action. Instead of listening to the voices of the stagnant status quo, our committee hears our President-elect" Sen Barbara Boxer Assembly District Election meetings Nov 21- Save the date! On the weekend of January 10-11, 2009 an Assembly District Election Meeting [Caucus election] will be convened in each California Assembly District by the California Democratic Party. This is YOUR TIME to continue what was started by the election of what we started when we elected Barack Obama President. Every Democrat registered in the district is eligible to vote. [There is also same day registration allowed for voters only, not delegate candidates.] The Meeting/Caucus in each District elects 12 delegates (6 male and 6 female) to the Democratic State Central Committee. These delegates comprise 1/3 of the California Democratic Party. The other [2] thirds are nominees [electeds or ex-officios] plus their appointments and County Central Committee delegates. [County Central Committees are allowed to elect only a few CDP delegates to the State Central Committee.] A list of locations, exact date/time and conveners will appear on www.cadem.org in mid-December. If you are interested in becoming a delegate to the California Democratic Party [State Central Committee] committee, contact your local Democratic Party Central Committee now.
